This fleece has been roo'd and came off beautifully in one piece.  Rooing involves simply collecting the fleece straight off the animal as it is shed.  For spinners, rooing a fleece means that the ends of the staple are rounded and produce a softer yarn.

The photos fairly accurately show that there are some lighter shades and some darker.

The measured staple is relaxed as it would be on the animal but there is so much crimp that upon drafting it will extend by about 50%.

I have spun this fleece previously and the yarn produced is soft enough to wear next to the skin.  Spun to "4ply" yielded enough yarn for a full jumper.
